Cairo (Egypt)/ ACROW Misr Head Office

The powerhouse is one of the main components of the project. It will be above ground level and consists of nine vertical Francis turbines with capacity ranging from 200MW to 300MW, each with 2 adjacent buildings.
ACROW is providing multiple solutions for such a mega project. ACROW supplied the raft of the powerhouse ACROW Tech-Form system, while for the dewatering gallery (tunnels through the rafts), ACROW used a Tunnel-form system with Eco-form panels, along with ACROW Tech-form system for the construction of piers.

One of the many challenges that faced ACROW’s team in the powerhouse is constructing a suspended raft of 8m thickness heavy slab with inclined base & top surfaces. ACROW managed to provide for it, for the first-time outside Egypt Heavy Duty Ringlock system for shoring & Tech-form for its walls.
As for implementing the Hydraulic part of the turbine (PIT FREE), ACROW used Vari-Form system for its curved walls, Tech-Form & Ringlock system for shoring.
