New Administrative Capital Central Bus Station

The client and project overview

The client for this project is the Engineering Authority of the Egyptian Armed Forces, which works hand-in-hand with the government on many of the critical public projects and infrastructures to manage and accelerate the rate of finishing projects throughout Egypt.

In the heart of the new administrative capital, one of the largest bus stations in the region and the largest one in Egypt is being developed, with the authority being responsible for it, and Arab Consulting Engineers “Moharram Bakhoum” & KAD Designs present as consultation partners.

As the leading formwork solutions company in Egypt, ACROW was explicitly assigned to solve the enormous challenges posed by the station's vast area.

About the Central Bus Station

The Central Bus Station in the new administrative capital is built over a vast area of 300 acres, including administrative and commercial buildings, a mosque, three petrol stations, and a service area for ticketing that also serves as a commercial one.

The station is set to occupy 464 buses for transportation between the new administrative capital and Cairo, 205 buses for transportation between the capital and other cities across Egypt, and
108 buses for internal transportation. The budget of the project is EGP 5 billion.

Challenges

There were different challenges with this project, considering its large scope. A complete shoring and decking system was needed with an area of 3000 square meters and a height of 8 meters.

Like other projects in the fast-paced new administrative capital, the schedule was very tight, with the whole project needed to wrap up between 2020 and 2022.
